This year’s tournament will showcase an intense 16-team, modified round robin battle packed into one unforgettable day. In just six action-filled hours, fans will witness 24 nonstop games as first responders and heroes face off for the chance to hoist the cup. The History
This October, the Ice Vault Arena in Wayne, NJ will host the fourth annual Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament, a growing tradition that brings together first responders and hockey fans for a powerful cause. What began as a four-team showdown between the FDNY, NYPD, U.S. Coast Guard, and a civilian team has grown into a 16-team tournament bringing together first responder, military, and government teams from across the East Coast. In just three years, the Heroes Cup has raised nearly $500,000 in support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This year's Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament, benefiting Tunnel to Towers, takes place Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Ice Vault Arena in Wayne, New Jersey, starting at 11:30 AM. Now with the NHL as a proud partner and Tunnel to Towers fully behind the mission, the 2026 Heroes Cup promises to be the biggest and best yet. This year marks not just another tournament, but the launch of something even greater—a tradition poised to become a nationally recognized event honoring real heroes through the game of hockey.
The Foundation
Born from 9/11 heroism, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors first responders and military heroes by paying off mortgages for Gold Star and fallen first responder families, building smart homes for injured veterans, and combating veteran homelessness.
